Cystic meningioma is an unusual manifestation in common solid meningiomas, accounting for 2-4% of all intracranial meningiomas in adults. A mixed cystic and solid appearance of the tumor may cause confusion for other cystic brain tumors; however, typical imaging features for meningioma such as hyperostosis (red arrows) of the involved calvaium, dural thickening (arrow head), and avid contrast enhancement may help make a correct preoperative diagnosis.
